Having epilepsy or caring for someone who does can be challenging. When epilepsy is diagnosed, it affects the whole family. Sometimes the practical problems of daily living – from insurance, to jobs, to medical care – may seem overwhelming. At other times, it helps just to talk to people who understand what its like to live with epilepsy.
Some people and their families living with epilepsy report a need for support and education within the epilepsy community. The Epilepsy Foundation Alabama Education and Networking Groups are designed to provide this to those who are interested in connecting with others living with epilepsy, and to learn from guest speakers on topics associated with epilepsy.
The groups listed here are open to anyone living or connected to epilepsy. These epilepsy groups are not intended to furnish medical advice or professional psychotherapy. The Epilepsy Foundation Alabama is not liable for the information presented at meetings.
For further information on any of the groups listed below, or if there is no group in your area and you wish to start one, please contact the Epilepsy Foundation Alabama at (205) 453-8205 or e-mail email@example.com.
